Post Acute RN Unit Manager

This position is responsible to ensure that the Nursing Unit provides optimum care to the residents of the SNF and/or LTC Facility.
Oversight of admission and discharges including developing interim care plans and completing documentation.
Monitors and documents infections and antibiotic use.
Leads the infection control efforts for the unit.
Coordinates the interface between the pharmacy consultants, behavior health and the attending physicians; monthly recapitulation of orders; tracks lab orders, draws and reports.
Ensures physician orders are placed in the short term care plan record.
Coordinates the orders and visits by podiatrist, dental and vision services.
Reviews MAR/TAR to ensure all entries are captured.
Responsible for Coumadin and Insulin therapy and checks to ensure following protocol and charted.
Reviews and ensures that weekly skin assessments are completed.
Oversight to unit physical issues, residents rights and dignity.
Maintains vaccination documentation and provides education for procedures including but not limited to feeding pump, glucose testing and First Dose.
Assist with Performance Improvement.
Serves on committees as requested.
Ensures that CMS Standards are met.
May function as a Charge or Staff Nurse to SNF or LTC residents as needed.
Reports to the Director of Nursing / Nursing Home Administrator.
Minimum EducationAssociate's Degree in Nursing is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Required LicensesCurrent RN license in State of Tennessee is required.
Tennessee, United States Registered Nurse Minimum Work ExperienceOne year experience in long term care setting is preferred.
Nursing service administration experience is preferred.
Required CertificationsThe below certifications will be required at the time of hire:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
